In the beginning of 2020, we invited Mr. Gottesleben, the CEO of a local campany (aSpect Systems GmbH) to our lectrue series. aSpect Systems is a company in Dresden that provides optical test and measurement solutions for companies in various industries. Whether silicon wafer tests or cameras for lane assistance control systems in motor vehicles, the company offers a wide range of optical-based measurement techniques.
Mr. Gottesleben not only provided illustrative material, but also provided us a deep insight into the various company areas. The lecture was especially interesting for our student members, as the company is ideally suited for internships or theses.

In July 2019, we hosted our first PhD student workshop with invited speakers from TU Dresden, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf and Fraunhofer IPMS. We provided a great framework for people from different institutes to share their experiences and exchange ideas.

With different disciplines of optics and photonics based in Dresden, we see huge potential for further workshops. Mainly PhD stundents enjoyed the chance to present their latest work in two sessions.

Afterwards we had a BBQ party together, which offered great oppotunity for fruitful discussions and networking.

In June 2019, it was the “Long Night Of Science in Dresden” again! #LNdWDD

The TU Dresden organizes each year this very popular event to attract people from Dresden and surrounding area. A lot of research groups from diffrent faculties prepare experiment to introduce their discipline.
Everyone, no matter the ages, fields, came to our booth to feel the charm of Lasers! It was also a great opportunity to inspire children and pupils to join the optical field in the future. Thanks to everyone for coming to experience the beauty of science.
